Your Birth Story

We don't have a lot of pictures of your birth and this is why. On August 20, 2008 I had an appointment with Jean at 10:30 A.M. I went in and she checked me and said, " Okay this is how it's going to go. You are going to come in at 5:00 labor for about 2 hours have the baby at 7:00 and be home in bed at 9:00." She was just joking around but she was very surprised later. When I left Inanna I was feeling a little bit weird but I didn't think anything of it. Your grandma Burrell was with me and she had to stop at a store really quick. When we were inside I felt the first contraction. The contractions weren't very regular so I didn't really mind them. At around 12:00 I started to feel them more, they were getting very strong. I had to crawl around on my hands and knees because you were face up so whenever a contraction started I had to just sit still and wait until it was done. By 1:00 I called the baby sitter for McKaylee and told her to come and then I called your dad. He was outside rehearsing a fire drill, which turned out to be the greatest thing that could happen. We later found out that the phone that he was using didn't work in the school, so it was a blessing that he was outside. Anyhow, he got a ride home from someone at work. When he was home I was really in pain! I called the birth center and they told me to come in. On our way to the birth center I had the feeling like I needed to push. We were almost there, but I think that we hit every red light on the way. When your dad pulled into the driveway of the birth center I got out and went into the birthing room. I was just about to tell Jean that I couldn't take any more pain. She checked me and told me that you were ready to come. I got into the bath tub and a contraction started coming. Jean told me to sit down, when I did OUT you came. Jean held you up and your dad about fell out of the chair that he was sitting in. I was at the birth center for 2 1/2 minutes before you came. I want you to know that I hold the record there! Thank you! I had you at 2:35 P.M. You weighed 7 lbs 4 oz and you were 19 3/4 inches long.
